Camping Extravaganza!
Whoever said camping is relaxing clearly did not bring along a 2 year-old. We had an absolute blast this past weekend - took the boys camping with some friends (yes, in a tent). Dad took baby home each night as we live only 35 minutes away from the campgrounds and I don’t think the other campers would’ve taken to hearing the wild shrieks of my 10-month old at 3am. There was plenty for the kids to do - fishing, swimming and even a petting zoo. I think I was more afraid of sleeping in the tent than my son was - he even pointed out to me a shadow on the tent that looked like a face!
Mostly I just got to enjoy spending some time alone with my oldest son which was fantastic. He amazes me every day just seeing his little personality come to life. I am also amazed at how much I can love someone! The high point of the weekend was when the other kids were getting into their tents to go to sleep and my son ran up to one and dove head first into their tent. I am looking forward to taking them both on a 4-day camping trip to the beach in August with my best friend and her kids although I am not sure how long the baby will tolerate it.
